Don R. Linsenmann is vice president and corporate champion, Six Sigma, with global responsibility for the deployment of Six Sigma into all of the DuPont businesses. Six Sigma is DuPont's business improvement process. DuPont started their Six Sigma journey, corporately, in 1999 and Mr. Linsenmann is the first and only Champion for the Corporation. He led the development of Six Sigma from a cost reduction program, through a productivity effort, evolving to a top line growth strategy, to finally a business improvement process. DuPont has validated over $2 billion in Six Sigma benefits from this initiative. In addition to leading the Six Sigma effort at DuPont, Mr. Linsenmann has global responsibility for DuPont's Corporate Strategic Accounts. This program at DuPont focuses on Growing strategic relationships with significant global companies.
Prior to his current appointment in 1999, Mr. Linsenmann had several business responsibilities at DuPont. He led the Industrial Nylon business during a time of transformation to a truly global enterprise by building capacity in Indonesia, Turkey, Argentina, and India through many creative partnering agreements with regional companies. He was then appointed the Managing Director of European Lycra®, and ran that business while living in Geneva, Switzerland. Subsequently, Mr. Linsenmann was CEO of two wholly owned subsidiary companies of DuPont. These start up enterprises were in the apparel industry and combined traditional garment making with digital technology. Mr. Linsenmann came to DuPont in 1984 with the acquisition of Exxon Enterprise Materials Division, where he was the leader of a high- tech materials business. Mr. Linsenmann received a bachelor's of mechanical engineering from the University of Delaware in 1972. He went on to receive a master's in mechanical and aerospace engineering, also from Delaware in 1974. In 1980, Mr. Linsenmann received his master's in business administration from Duke University concentrating in marketing. He has been an industry spokesperson regarding Six Sigma having keynoted several International conferences, such as the American Society of Quality. He and his wife Carol have one child, Kimberly, and reside in West Chester, Pa.
