Joe Torre Chairman and CEO Torre Lazur McCann Healthcare Worldwide

Joe Torre was one of the founding fathers of Torre Lazur in 1979 and has been the driving force behind its explosive growth. Because of his success, McCann-Erickson WorldGroup appointed Mr. Torre to head the McCann Healthcare WorldWide corridor, which has billings of $1 billion and an international presence in 17 cities around the globe.

Mr. Torre's background in marketing, sales, and pharmacy combined with his management skills make him uniquely qualified to spearhead a full-service healthcare communications company.

He began his healthcare career as a registered pharmacist working in a retail setting. He was then recruited by Hoffmann-La Roche, where he held positions in sales, marketing, and market research. The expertise he gained in those various environments enabled him to move into advertising with a clear understanding of both the customer and the marketplace. After leaving Roche Labs, Mr. Torre became an account supervisor at Healthmark Communications in New York. His understanding of both industry and client needs enabled him to start his own agency, which has evolved into Torre Lazur.

While Mr. Torre is very involved with agency management and client relations, he is also an integral part of the strategic development team at the agency.

He is a member of the Health Care Marketing Communications Council, the America Marketing Association, and the American Pharmaceutical Association. He holds a BS degree in pharmacy and an MBA from St. John's University.
