David McMillan
Principal and Chief Technology Officer |
David McMillan has over 20 years of experience on the developmental frontlines of computer and communications technology. An engineer, entrepreneur and business manager, he has held positions in hardware and software engineering, systems analysis and design, and executive-level management.
McMillan was formerly the Principal and co-founder of ESnet, where he was Vice President of Technology and the primary architect of their communications system and the main designer of their technology tool sets. At TASC, McMillan managed the software development team for large simulation projects and directed the consulting group for analyzing large communications and networking structures. He also managed systems engineering teams for TRW, Northrop and Image Resources, and has lent his scientific and entrepreneurial talents to scores of successful, high-profile projects including Liz Claiborne, The Limited, GenCorp Polymer Products, The GAP, NASA, the United States Navy and Army Laboratories.
For a number of years, he worked for a variety of defense companies--including the Pentagon--in the California and Washington, D.C. areas, often with high-security access. He's lent his experience in computer science, networking, CAD, production and engineering to projects ranging from accident litigation simulations and work on the Space Shuttle to environmental issues and creating and supervising CAD visualizations for the Weather Service.
